I wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful holiday in Cubertou. I am sure every one of us enjoyed our stay. We were also overcome by the beauty of the  area, the trees, the fields, the villages...
Best wishes and many thanks from Ottawa

Cubertou - yesterday's charm, today's comfort

Near the medieval village of St Martin le Redon, Lot

  • golden stone buildings
  • a grass courtyard
  • 25 acres of woods and meadows
  • near the top of a hillside at the end of its own drive
  • very quiet setting well away from roads
  • wide views across the valley (click magnifying glass to enlarge photo).click to enlarge

Originally a working farm, then a summer art centre, Cubertou has bags of originality and charm.

  • fully equipped kitchen (see accommodation for full details of equipment)
  • huge barn, open on one side to the courtyard, with long tables and benches, provides deep shade
  • barbecue in a corner of the raised terrace at the front of the house, shaded with vine and wisteria.

  • traditional "pigeonnier" tower
  • peacock-blue "salon" which easily doubles as a dining room with a connecting door to the kitchen.

"the clock says 6.30, as it always does..." Elisabeth, Seattle, USA
