Stargazing

At night, Cubertou is truly exceptional for star-gazing, in an area designated as blue according to the World Atlas of Artificial Night Sky Brightness classification (see cross on map of France). Blue signifies areas where artificial light is up to 10% greater than natural light: this is the minimal level of light pollution, already increasingly scarce in Western Europe.

Better still, Cubertou is within easy reach (approx. 75 km/47 miles) of one of France's four remaining areas of zero light pollution, the so-called "Black triangle" of the Lot, clearly visible on the map east of Cubertou.
